The location was very good no road noise Breakfast was top notch with all options catered for Rooms were faultless comfortable beds ,warm rooms and great bathrooms ( we stayed in the courtyard accommodation) Ample parking close to rooms A bar at the entrance of the hotel was an ideal meeting place Our function was held in the great barn with its own bar and a side room for the buffet Although the hotel has a spa and pool we didn't use it as there was a lot of catching up with friends to do as we had travelled from all over the country Cornwall Wales and Northumberland

Great location for what we needed. Plenty of free parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was large, clean and had everything we needed. Nice to have a double bed each when sharing. Great to have a bath and shower. Very quiet overnight and lovely comfy beds. We didn’t get chance use the spa facilities, but nice they’re included for use. Ate in the bar in the evening and staff very helpful and went over and above to make something different for two people with an intolerance to a certain ingredient in nearly everything on the menu. Great selection at breakfast and loved it was served until 10:00. Unusual on weekdays.

Amazing weekend. The hotel was great the room was a lot bigger than what we expected, we chose to have breakfast which had a great variety. Leisure facilities were really good, everything from pool, sauna, steam room to spacious changing areas, showers and the use of free towels every time you went in. the opening time were great meaning you could go from early morning or later on in the evening you can also use these before and after check in meaning my children got the chance to have another swim before we left to go home without having to rush around and fit it in before checking out. all in all we had a lovely time together and will definitely be coming back

We stayed here for one night as part of a ticketed event. As the event was taking place here, we decided to stay over as we live over 2 hours drive away. We had a lovely stay. The food we had at the event was really good (often you don’t get that when it’s a set meal as part of an event). The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and a good size.

We love this hotel. The rooms are clean. The towels are new and soft. The restaurant serves nice food. The Stockyard pub is nearby, we like the atmosphere there.

Booked the Fretwell Suite for our special anniversary which was very spacious and comfortable. Bar food was excellent and good value for money. Staff very helpful on arrival and throughout our stay.

All staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Our special celebratory dinner was held in the Drawing Room (not dining room) which was an excellent location. Nice to have a spa too. Great history of the old part of the building.

The room was great, very big with extra chairs and a table, which was good for working when I had to. Everywhere was very clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. We went to the pool too, and that was a nice treat for us. The gym looked good, but we didn´t try it. Breakfast was buffet style, lots to choose from, enjoyed the fresh fruit salad too, nice touch. Bar area good and outside areas lovely.

Excellent staff particular shout out for Liz on reception who was exceptionally helpful polite and went the extra mile. Very clean accommodation with excellent in room toiletries and tea tray facilities. Clean comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. Pool and changing area were very clean and water a perfect temperature.

The hotel had a lot of character which made a pleasant change from the usual commercial hotels. Although the restaurant was closed during our stay the bar meals were varied and cooked by a chef. The meals were excellent and well presented. They were enjoyed by my 6 year old through to my 78 year old father. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were made to feel like guests.
